About Reade

Reade has two facilities, with its main center located in the heart of Amsterdam. It offers and develops high-quality, specialist medical rehabilitation, rheumatology care and supportive care. Reade also provides care, support and advice in numerous hospitals, day care centres and schools in Amsterdam and the surrounding area.

Renovation after nearly 30 years of loyal service 

After nearly thirty years of loyal service, the old movable pool floor with hinged flap was due for replacement. The floor had literally been moved thousands of times, supporting countless rehabilitation sessions, swimming classes and other activities. Last summer, the time had come. The old floor was removed and a brand new movable floor specially designed for therapy pools was installed. The new movable pool floor covers the entire pool and has two sets of removable underwater walking bars to facilitate hydrotherapy exercises. In addition, a new pool lift has been installed, enabling wheelchair users to enter the pool safely and quickly.

Optimal rehabilitation program with individual supervision 

The water supports the body and relieves pressure on the joints, making movements that are painful or difficult on dry land easier to perform in the pool. This makes hydrotherapy ideal for people recovering from surgery, injury or conditions such as osteoarthritis or stroke. The movable pool floor enables Reade to provide specialist care that contributes to an optimal rehabilitation process. In addition to the physical benefits, the warm water in Reade’s swimming pool promotes relaxation and reduces muscle tension. This can speed up the healing process and increase motivation. All of this makes personalized guidance possible and offers clients the opportunity to regain their independence step by step in a safe environment.
